Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by JOS Machines LLC, including (but not limited to) 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet cutting, and sourced/partner manufacturing. By submitting files, requesting a quote, or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
1) Quotes, Files, and Design Responsibility
- Quotes are generated from the information you provide (file, process, material, quantity, notes) and may be adjusted if requirements change.
- You are responsible for the correctness of your design and files (dimensions/units, wall thickness, tolerances, fits, assemblies, and intended use).
- We may contact you if a file appears unsuitable for the selected process, but we do not provide engineering certification unless explicitly agreed in writing.
2) Manufacturing Process & Required File Types
- Each manufacturing process has specific file requirements (for example, many machining workflows require a
.STEPCAD file, while 3D printing may accept.STL/.OBJ). - If the selected process requires a file type you have not provided, checkout may be blocked until a compatible file is uploaded.
- If a file must be converted (e.g., STEP → STL for visualization), the converted file is for processing/preview and does not change the original design intent.
3) Tolerances, Variation, and “As-Manufactured” Reality
- All manufacturing processes include natural variation. Final parts may differ slightly from the digital model due to process limits, material behavior, and post-processing.
- 3D printed parts can show layer lines, minor surface artifacts, and small dimensional drift depending on geometry and orientation.
- Machined parts may have tool marks and edge breaks unless otherwise specified.
- If you require critical tolerances, mating fits, thread standards, surface finish, or inspection reports, include this in your notes and confirm before production.
4) Materials, Color, and Appearance
- Material availability can change. We may substitute only with your approval (or ask you to revise the order) if a selected material is unavailable.
- Colors shown in renders or on-screen are approximate. Actual color and finish can vary between batches and materials.
- For sourced/partner manufacturing, material branding and finish may vary while meeting the agreed specification.
5) Lead Times, Scheduling, and Changes
- Lead times are estimates and depend on queue, process selection, part complexity, and material availability.
- Requests to change a file/process/material after ordering may require a revised quote and may affect delivery.
- Once production starts, changes may not be possible.
6) Payment, Cancellations, and Remakes
- Payment is required before production begins.
- Because parts are custom manufactured, orders generally cannot be returned for “change of mind” or design issues.
- If there is a manufacturing defect or we do not meet an agreed specification, we will work with you to remake, repair, or otherwise resolve the issue.
- If you discover an issue, notify us promptly with photos and a description of the problem.
7) Shipping, Delivery, and Risk of Loss
- Shipping costs and carrier selection are based on weight, destination, and service level.
- Delivery dates are not guaranteed by us and may be affected by carriers, weather, or other events beyond our control.
- Risk of loss transfers upon carrier acceptance unless otherwise required by applicable law.
8) Intellectual Property & Restricted Content
- You represent that you own or have rights to manufacture any files you submit, including trademarks, patents, and copyrighted designs.
- We reserve the right to refuse any order that may violate intellectual property rights or applicable laws.
- We may refuse items that are unlawful, unsafe, or intended for prohibited use.
9) Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, JOS Machines LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of manufactured parts.
- Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the affected order unless otherwise required by law.
